dealing with the “how long have you been in the lifestyle” icebreaker question

After a few minutes of chatting with a new couple at an event, the first inevitable question pops up

“Thank you for asking, well, I’ve been coming to munches and such for about ten years, I guess. Feels like forever, honestly. It’s just really comfortable here, and I always meet such nice people.”

Person makes some statements

“Well, no, I actually don’t know much about rope or impact. Not really my thing, and I probably won’t know much about if you ask me in twenty years. But I do know some people into that aspect of the lifestyle. I’m sure I could point you in a good direction. Also I’ve seen pictures of rope on this one profile that look pretty. I can probably find the username…”

Person says a few more things

“No, that’s fine that you’re new! Yeah, some people don’t want anything with newbies, for various reasons. I really don’t mind it.”

Person continues

“Yeah, I’ve heard that’s true. I don’t have a minimum required number of years involved to talk to someone. I guess I usually date someone who’s been exploring kink for at least a year or so, but that’s not a hard and fast rule.”

Person continues

“Sure, I’d love to connect with you on Fet! Always nice to meet someone new, hope you have a lovely evening. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to catch up with some friends, but I hope to see you around soon!”

You’re welcome, ^^.
