love isn’t everything, except it is everything

Sometimes love is casual/less/etc.

I suppose that sounds odd coming from someone whose life is built on Love. But even I can acknowledge that a relationship is more than Love. And sometimes the Love shared between two people is precious, even if it isn’t all consuming passionate perfect eternal Love (if such exists or not, I can tell you my own experience, but that is only mine). At any rate, I believe that Casual Love is still Love. Love is always, always Love.

I believe that not every love will look like the love that sleeps next to me every night. Suppose a lover is far from me, lives, maybe, in another country. Perhaps they do not think of me every night, or even most nights. Is that person less loving of me, because it doesn’t look like how I’ve been raised to believe Love should look?

Or should I appreciate that Love for what it is?

Love can be partial. Love can be fleeting. Love is no less love, because it is not “everything.”

I may not sound believable. I do, after all, have an “everything” love. I treasure that more than you could possibly imagine.

But I have other loves, too.

I hope you understand they are just as real a love as any other. I hope you respect all my loves, even if you’ll never meet them. Those loves are just as precious, however fleeting, however inconsequential, however shallow (assuming the love is based on genuine qualities, rather than an illusion).

Love can, indeed, be everything. But love is always, well, love.

Love is beautiful!
